About University: For the advancement of knowledge in learning, teaching, research, and in the field of law, TNDALU, a public state University, was established under the act of The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University by the government of Tamil Nadu in the year 1996. The university was named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. TNDALU has recognition from the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University Grants Commission (UGC). The University is also a part of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).  The Governor of Tamil Nadu is in the position of  Chancellor of the University and N.S. Santhosh Kumar holds the position of vice-chancellor. Now, all Law colleges in Tamil Nadu come under Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University. The university is run with the motto that the law is supreme.  TNDALU has established The  School of Excellence for some courses.

Regarding the admission process for the academic year 2026-27, TNDALU will upload the application form at the official website of the University. TNDALU will soon open the admission portal for various programs, including B.COM, LLB. Hons, P.hd in Law PG Diplomas, and B.C.A, of the academic year 2026-27. The university will admit candidates on a merit-based or on marks achieved in UG degree. Selection criteria will be based on the merit of The School of Excellence which offers both 3-year and 5-year Hons degree courses. There are certain requirements for admission at TNDALU as candidates must have passed 10+2 from a recognized board and have a valid gradaute degree. There is no age limit for any course.  Registration fee is range between INR 350- INR 1000 submit before 30 April 2026*.

TNDALU UG Admission 2026-27

TNDALU invites candidates for multiple UG courses such as B.A.LLB. (Hons),  B.COM.LLB. (Hons), and  B.B.A.LL.B. (Hons). The university will open an admission portal for undergraduate programs . Desired candidates can fill out the application form from the official website of TNDALU.  The duration of these programs is 5 years that is each academic year is divided into 10 semesters.  Only those candidates can apply for UG courses who have completed 10+2 with 60% aggregate marks from a recognized board.   Those candidates who are applying for B.COM.LLB. (Hons) must have commerce as a core subject in higher secondary school. Undergraduate course fees range between INR 50,000 and 100,000, depending on the course opted by candidates. Registration admission fees are INR 5000 which ned to be submit before 30 April 2026*.

TNDALU offers a wide range of 2-year postgraduate specializations in courses like Department of Business Law, Department of Constitutional Law and Human Rights, Department of International Law and Organization, Department of Cyberspace Law and Justice, etc. TNDALU will open an admission portal for various PG courses. Interested candidates can visit the official website of TNDALU for any information regarding the admission process. Candidates who are interested in doing any course from TNDALU can apply from the official website. Only those candidates are eligible for Postgraduate admission who have completed a 3-year or 5-year undergraduate course in Law and achieved a 45% mark. Selection criteria will be based on merit in the qualifying examination and as per the rules of the Government of Tamil Nadu. Fees for postgraduate courses at TNDALU range between INR 30,000 and INR 50,000, depending on the course chosen  by candidates. For the registration, candidates have to pay INR 350- INR 1000. Last date to apply for the PG courses is 30 April 2026*.

TNDALU PhD admission will open soon for the academic session 2026-27. Applicants who want to pursue PhD courses in any discipline can apply for admission. Application forms for the PhD courses are available on the official admission portal of the TNDALU. Students must complete the the application form and prospectus through the official online website. Application form fee for PhD degree is INR 1,500. Before applying students must review the entire application form carefully. To pursue the degree students must shave the minimum qualification of a master’s degree in the same field.
