Bihar Institute of Law was established by the Law Society of Bihar in January 1984. The ‘Law Society of Bihar’ is a registered Society under the Societies Registration Act 1860 bearing registration No. 440 of 1983-1984. Bihar Institute of Law offers only two undergraduate programmes that is 5-year Integrated B. A L.L.B. and a 3-year L.L.B. course. Admission for these UG Courses are strictly on the basis of entrance exam conducted by college in the banner of BILAT. Subjects like English, General Knowledge, Legal aptitude and Analytical reasoning are covered in the syllabus of the entrance test. 

Eligibility Criteria For Bihar Institute of Law UG Admission 2026

• Eligibility for B.A LL.B: Students must have passed their 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognised board of education. Student’s Minimum marks obtained in last qualifying examination should be 45% or its aggregate. 
• Eligibility for LL.M: Students are required to have Graduation degree in any discipline/course from a recognised board of University. Minimum passing marks in their last qualifying examination must be at least 45% or its equivalent grade.

UG Program Eligibility and Admission 2026 For Bihar Institute of Law

Bihar Institute of Law admission window has not opened yet for the PG programmes for the academic session 2026. Those who are interested can apply through the official website of University. They have to fulfill eligibility criteria as mentioned in University’s guidelines. Course duration of the programme is one to two years. Students have to pay a compulsory application fee of INR 500 which will not be refunded later. 

Eligibility Criteria: Students must have a bachelor’s degree IN LL.B from a recognised University. They must have 50% aggregate marks in their UG degree. Students from SC/ST category get relaxation in minimum marks duration.
