Karnataka University Admission 2026 | Eligibility, Courses, Fees Structure

Karnataka University admission process will start soon for all programs for the academic year 2026. Students can apply to desired undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate courses. The application form is available online on the university portal. Students have to pay PG application fiend entrance exam fee of INR 665/- for general and (SC/ST is INR 335/-). Ug registration fee is expected to be INR 500/- and INR 250/– for reserved category. Admission will be merit based and entrance examination-based. About Karnataka University 

Karnatak university, founded in 1949 was established by the Bombay Legislature of the erstwhile Bombay Presidency. University is accredited by the NAAC with an A grade and approved by UGC. Its administrative jurisdiction extends to the districts of Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, and Uttara Kannada. The university has an 888 acre campus that offers various courses in commerce, education, art, management, social science, law, science and technology. The university has 45000 students studying in a postgraduate program offered in 51 PG departments. The university has adopted the NEP 2020 policy for its academic curriculum. The university has 5 constituent colleges, and more than 250 affiliated colleges.

Karnataka University UG Admission 2026

Karnataka University admission for the undergraduate program will begin soon for the academic session 2026. Interested applicants are invited to apply for undergraduate programs offered in Karnataka University and its affiliated colleges.  All UG honors programs are offered for 4 years and 8 semesters and regular programs are available for 3 years and 4 semesters. Students can register for various programs such as BA, Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (B.T.T.M.), BSW, B.Sc, BCA, Bachelor of Performing Arts in Music, Bachelor of Visual Arts (B.V.A.), B.COM, BBA, LL.B./B.Ed./B.P.Ed.

For admission to the UG program, any students who have completed their 10+2 examination or a 3 year diploma course with any subject are eligible for admission. Applicants are required to have a minimum 45% mark and 40% for SC/ST category. 

Karnataka University PG Admission 2026

Karnataka University admission process will start soon for all PG programs for the session 2026. Applicants are invited to apply for master’s degree programs such as MA, Master of Performing Arts, LL.M, M.Ed, M.P.Ed, Master of Journalism and Mass Communication and M.Sc., including M.V.A, MSW, Master of Tourism and Travel Management (MTTM), Library & Information Science (M.Lib.I.Sc.), MSC, MBA, M.Ed, M.COM. Postgraduate programs are run for the time period of 2 years and 4 semesters. 

Eligibility criteria for any PG program include students to pass in a qualifying bachelor’s degree examination with minimum 45%- 50% mark and 40%-45% for SC/ST category from any recognized university. Students also have to appear for entrance examinations and counseling conducted by the university. Selection for MCA and MBA will be done through PGCET conducted by KEA. students can avail all these programs from the constituent and affiliated colleges.

Karnataka University Diploma And Certificate Course Admission 2026

Karnataka University admission window has not opened yet for all diploma and certificate courses for 2026. PG-D/Diploma/Certificate Courses Application processing fees for General is INR 220/- and for SC/ST is INR 110/-. KU offers certificate courses in Kannada, Sanskrit, French, German, Russian, and yoga studies. Students need to pass S.S.L.C. or its equivalent to be eligible. 

It offers diploma courses in French, German, Russian, Sanskrit, and Hotel and Hospitality Services (SF). Applicants must have a certificate course or relevant course from a recognized university or institute for admission. A minimum of 33% mark is required for hotels and hospitality service programs. Admission to advanced diploma courses like french, german, russian will be given to students with a diploma in relevant foreign language done from any university or institution.

PG diplomas are offered in 20 disciplines such as Women’s Studies, Yoga Studies, P.G.D.C.A., etc. to get admission, applicants must have a bachelor degree in any discipline with a minimum 45% to 50% mark and 40% for reserved category. 

Karnatak University PhD Admission 2026

Karnataka University admission for the PhD program will start soon for the academic session 2026. Students can register for full time or part time PhD programs. Application fee of general category is INR 2,420/- and INR 1,210/- for SC/ST full time candidates only. Anyone who has completed their PG program for a recognized university with a minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Cat-I/Differently-abled candidates) are eligible for admission.

All students have to appear for entrance examination in MCO mode of 100 mark, except those who have cleared UGC/UGC-CSIR JRF/NET/SLET(Karnataka)/GATE/GRE/M.Phil. Admissions are open in various faculties such as Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Commerce, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Social Science, Faculty of Science and Technology.

Karnatak University Dharwad program fee is sectioned into normal fee and enhanced fee. The total amount is different for all categories. 

Karnataka University Admission Process 2026

Students applying to Karnataka University must read all the instructions regarding the application process. 

• Step 1: Applicants have to download an application form from the university website- www.kud.ac.in. 
• Step 2: A duly filled application form has to be sent to the  Chairman/Coordinator of the concerned Departments at K.U. Dharwad along with bank challan of Application Processing fee and Entrance Test fees.
• Step 3: Application fee has to be paid online.
• Step 4: Students who wished to apply to more than one course can do so by submitting a separate application form to the concerned department. 
• Step 5: Acknowledgement of paid fee has to be snet along with the application form and  Two Copies on-line bank challans. 
• Step 6: Selection will be entranced based. Hence students have to apply and appear for entrance tests such as PGCET. 
• Step 7: Merit list will be announced, selected students have to appear for counseling sessions. 
• Step 8: Students have to pay an admission fee to confirm their seat.
