Purvanchal University PhD admission will start soon for the academic session 2026. Candidates having a Master’s degree in relevant subjects are eligible to apply for admission. They also have to pay application fees of INR 500 while submitting form. Total Programme fee for a full-time Ph.D is INR 30,000 Ph.D offered by Purvanchal University is approved by UGC. Purvanchal University is a Government University located in Jaunpur, U.P. It was established on 2nd October 1987, under the U.P. State University Act, 1973. Purvanchal University PhD admission will start soon for the academic session 2026. The programme is offered in regular mode of education only. The university offers a Ph.D in Full time mode and part-time modes. It is required to fulfill the eligibility criteria. If failing to do so, the admission form will be rejected and will not be carried forward. Non refundable application fee is required to pay at the time of submitting application form.

Ph.D is highest academic degree offered in specific field is students is capable of doing in depth research. Duration of Ph.D programme is generally 3 to 5 years. Eligibility Criteria For Purvanchal University PhD Admission

Candidates who want to apply for a Ph.D at Purvanchal University must hold a PG degree with minimum marks to be at least 55% or its equivalent grade ‘B’. Relaxation of 5% of marks, which means required marks should be 50% or its equivalent grade is given to students belonging to SC/ST/SBC/Differently abled and other categories. There are some different eligibility criterias for Full Time Ph.D and Part Time Ph.D:

• Full-time Ph.D: Candidates should have valid NET/GATE results. 
• Part-Time Ph.D: Should have a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from  Principal /Head of the Department/Director of Institute/Leaving authority for pursuing part-time Ph.D. These candidates will be exempted from the written examination of research test but have to prepare a write-up related to his/her proposed research work and present it to the DRC.

Purvanchal University has a low-budget fee structure which varies for full-time and part-time Ph.D students. There is also an application fee and Coursework fee in addition to programme fee. For Part time Ph.D students fee is decided later by committee/department.

• Step 2: ‘Complete New User Registration’ process by filling basic information that should be matched with your 10th and 12th certificates.

Purvanchal University PhD Course Regulations

Students who are pursuing Ph.D from Purvanchal University shall undergo course work for a minimum duration of one semester/six months as prescribed by the University. Course work must be treated as pre Ph.D preparation and include course on research methodology, quantitative methods and computer applications or reviewing published research work in relevant field. If any candidate fails to qualify course work examination in first attempt, then only one additional attempt is given to clear exam.

Minimum attendance required to appear for examination shall be 75% of all class lectures. 50% of attendance relaxation can be provided by Vice Chancellor. Credits assigned to Ph.D course work is maximum of 16 credits. There will be a research project in pre Ph.D course work. Obtained marks will be entered in grade card sheet but does not count in CGPA.
