Thiruvalluvar University (TVU) offers various undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), Diploma, PG Diploma and Certificate courses across numerous fields. Interested applicants can register online through their official portal. The registration fee of TVU is INR 100 to INR 150 (INR 350 for MBA), which is paid at the time of the application process. To get admission at TVU for UG courses, students need to have passed their 10+2, and for PG courses, is to hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

However the selection process is totally based on the merit score of the last qualifying examination, but for some programmes like M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Com. and an MBA, it may require an entrance exam, so it is advisable to check the notifications and eligibility criteria for the MBA programme.

Thiruvalluvar University (TVU) was established in 2002 by the Government of Tamil Nadu under the Thiruvalluvar University Act, 2002. It is a government university, recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and it has an accreditation of “B+” grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council). The university’s aim is to promote research and higher education and it focuses on social equality. Thiruvalluvar University offers 4 undergraduate (UG), 15 postgraduate (PG), 12 integrated, 13 PG Diploma and 16 PhD programmes. The university offers courses like B.Sc. in Computer Science, B.Sc. in Data Science and B.Voc at UG level, M.A. in Tamil, English, Economics, M.Com, M.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics, Biotechnology, and MBA at PG level. TVU also offers 5-year integrated programmes, including M.A. in Applied Economics, M.Com, M.Sc. in Mathematics, Data Science and Big Data Analytics M.Sc. in Microbiology.

Thiruvalluvar University admission process for the undergraduate program will start soon for the academic session 2026. The university offers 4 courses at UG level including B.Sc. in Computer Science, B.Sc. in Data Science, and B.Voc. The selection process for UG programmes is based on the merit score. Thiruvalluvar University admission registrations will begin soon for the postgraduate program for the 2026- 27 academics session. Candidates can apply through the university’s website. The university offers various courses like M.A in M.A in Tamil, English, Economics, M.Com, M.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics, Biotechnology, Data Science, MBA and many more. The admission in PG programmes is based on the entrance exam. The eligibility criteria is to hold a  Bachelor’s degree certificate in a relevant field from a recognized university by UGC. applicants also need to secure at least 50% to 55% aggregate marks at the graduation level. Candidates are required to check the eligibility criteria and other requirements before applying for any PG courses.

Thiruvalluvar University provides several courses in UG, PG Diploma and Certificate level. The fee structure of this university is cheaper than other universities. Thiruvalluvar University has a placement cell that bridges the gap between graduates and entrepreneurs. TVU provides their graduates with on-campus placements and also provides off-campus placements. The university organises counselling sessions, pre-placement training sessions and many group discussions and also organises leadership and training programmes. 

Thiruvalluvar University’s placement cell is collaborations with leading companies like TATA, Mahindra,Simho and many others. In 2024, 75 graduates from the departments of Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer science of  the university have attested the written test and interview, where 22 students are selected for the teaching post in several institutions.
