About Patliputra University 

Patliputra University was established in 2018. Founded by the government of Bihar, it is located in Patna, Bihar, India. The university has many affiliated colleges, 25 constituent colleges, two government girls colleges and three minority colleges. Patliputra University is accredited by NAAC and approved by university garnet commission. It is a state university offering various undergraduate, postgraduate, and PHd programs in commerce, humanities,social science, and science. All these programs are available in traditional, vocational and choice based credit systems. Universities aspire to collaborate with various national and international organizations, industries, universities and government agencies. 

Patliputra University UG Admission 2026

Patliputra University admission will start soon for all undergraduate programs for 2026. Students are invited to register for various traditional and vocational UG programs. Registration fee for UG traditional courses is INR 600 to INR 450 for SC/ST, and for vocational courses, INR 1100 to INR 750/-. 

Applicants can apply for a Bachelor of Arts Patliputra University admission in 20 disciplines, a Bachelor of Science in 6 specializations, B.COM accounts and corporate accounts, BDS, B.PHARM, B.ED, and B.TECH. It also offers vocational programs in constituent and affiliated colleges, such as BCA, BBA, BBM, BAJMC, and more. UG program at Patliputra University is offered under choice-based credit system(CBCS).

The duration of all UG programmes is four years and eight semesters. Students have to pass in their intermediate examination from Bihar’s school examination board or equivalent approved national state boards. Students have to score a minimum 45% marks in their chosen stream. Admission to self-financed courses like BBA, B.SC and Biotech courses will be through PPU UGET. The university also accepts the JEE MAIN score for the B.Tech program. 

Patliputra University PG Admission 2026

Patliputra University admission for the academic session 2026 will begin soon. Online registration is applicable for all postgraduate programs offered in the PPU campus and its constituent/affiliating colleges.  PG traditional courses application fee is INR 800 INR 600 for SC/ST and for vocation course, INR 1100 to INR 750/-. Students can apply for traditional PG courses such as master of science in 13 specializations, M.SC in 5 disciplines, and M.COM. vocational courses include MBA, MCA, M.SC in Env. Science, Electronics, Bio-Tech, and IT, LSW and Public Administration. 

To be eligible for Patliputra University admission PG/regular courses students need to pass with bachelor degree with a minimum mark of 45% in respective fields. Admission will be on a merit basis. For an MBA program at least 50% minimum mark is required with a valid score of CAT/MAT/AIMA/ATMA/GMAT, common entrance test of respective state, followed by group discussion and personal interview. All postgraduate courses are offered for the duration of two years and four semesters.

Patliputra University PhD Admission 2026

Patliputra University admission for the PhD program will start soon for the academic session 2026. Online Applications are invited for the PhD admission test -PAT 2026 for all PhD courses. This entrance examination is compulsory for subjects like Economics, Psychology, History, Political Science, Sociology, Geography, Home Science, Zoology, Botany, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Music, Philosophy, and Commerce. 

Students desiring to appear for PAT 2026 entrance examination must have a master degree with a minimum 55% mark. There is a 5% mark relaxation for SC/ST/EBC/OBC/Differently abled categories. Applicants will be allowed to pursue research for a PhD degree in the subject in which he/she holds a master degree or in an allied subject form a recognized university. 

Only those applicants who have passed NET/JRF examination or secured research grants (fellowship/scholarships) offered by DBT/ICMR/ICAR/DST/CSSIR/ICHR/ICPR will be exempted from the PhD admission test. Entrance test fee is INR 1500 for general, INR 1000 for reserved and late fine of INR 500.

Students need to read all the given instructions carefully before filling the application form online.

• Step 1: Go to the university website www.ppup.ac.in/.
• Step 2: Click on the ADMISSION PORTAL button. 
• Step 3: Register with your user name, password, email and phone number.
• Step 4: OTP will be sent for verification purposes.
• Step 5: Login with email ID and password. 
• Step 6: Fill up the forms with personal and educational details, and select your program and select desired constituent/affiliated colleges. 
• Step 7: Upload your scan signature and photograph.
• Step 8: Upload all the mentioned documents after scanning them. 
• Step 9: Register and dapper for entrance examination where applicable.
• Step 10: The offer list will be uploaded on the university website. 
• Step 11: Pay registration fee prescribed for UG/PG courses.
• Step 12: Download the registration pay slip.
• Step 13: Print out duly filled application form for future verification purpose.
