NSOU admission process will start soon for the academic year 2026. Students can apply for admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs. The NSOU application fee is INR 275/-. Which is non-refundable. Students can find the application form of the desired program uploaded on the university admission portal. It is necessary to check the eligibility criteria and course fee before filling the application form. Students must remember to submit the duly filled form before the last date. About NSOU 

Netaji Subhas Open University was established in the year of 1998. It is the only open state university in West Bengal PG and  Second Degree Programme (BLIS) in ODL mode. NSOU is accredited by NAAC with an A grade.  NSOU is recognized by UGC-DEB, RCI(Rehabilitation Council of India), AICTE, the equivalence of an ODL degree by UGC, and 12B. Netaji Subhas Open University is also a member of AIU(Association of indian Universities), AAOU(Association of asian open Universities), and ACU(Association of Commonwealth Universities). It has regional centers in Kalyani, Durgapur, and Jalpaiguri. It also includes 6 schools.

NSOU UG Admission 2026 

NSOU admission registration process will begin soon for undergraduate programs for the academic session 2026. Students are invited to apply for UG programs such as BSC in 6 specializations, BA in 8 specializations, and B.COM. All undergraduate program minimum course strength is 3 years and 6 semesters. Students have a maximum of 6 years to complete the course. The program will be provided under a choice-based credit system. The medium of instruction is English and Bengali. All UG programs will be offered in open and distance learning mode(ODL).

To get admission to any UG courses, students need to pass the 10+2 examination or equivalent or pass in 10+2 in vocational courses. For admission to the BA in Education, a minimum 45% mark and for BA 40% mark is required. Evaluation will be done in the assignment, term-end examination, and practical examination. 

NSOU PG Admission 2026

NSOU admission process will start soon for all postgraduate programs for the year 2026. Admission will be held in online mode through the application form uploaded on the university admission portal. Students can apply to PG courses such as M.Sc. in 4 specializations, master of Arts in 9 specializations, master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Bachelor of Library and Information Science, master of Social Work (MSW), M.COM. The minimum duration of a PG program is 2 years and 4 semesters. Registration of the students is valid for a maximum duration of 5 years. The minimum course length of MLIS and BLIS is 1 year, maximum duration is 3 years.

Students have to graduate with 10+2+3 in a relevant discipline or equivalent. For the BLIS program a minimum 45% – 50% is required with working experience in a library or similar field. PG programs will be offered in English and Bengali medium. Evaluation methods include 20% from the assignment and 80% in term end examination.

As per the directives of UGC/UGC-DEB, it is mandatory to have an ABC ID and DEB ID. read all the given instructions carefully before starting the application process.

• Step 1: Visit the NSOU admission website and click on REGISTER.
• Step 2: Log in with the credential and fill up the application form.
• Step 3: Select course, mode of SLMs, upload signature and picture, and legible documents as instructed. 
• Step 4: The university will verify eligibility and update application status accordingly.
• Step 5: Students are advised to check the status regularly. 
• Step 6: Once the application is verified and approved, students need to pay an application fee.
• Step 7: Application fee has to be paid online via Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. 
• Step 8: Visit the university website and submit an anti-ragging reference ID and verify DEB ID. 
• Step 9: Take a printout of PAYMENT CONFIRMATION RECEIPT MAIL. 
• Step 10: Also take printouts of ENROLLMENT CERTIFICATE and TOKEN OF SLMs.

To make the academic structure of the university more learner-friendly, it offers facilities such as learner facilitation centers(LFC). Which include 3 regional centers and one headquarters. NSOU has amazing library services which include Reading and reference facilities, One Nation One Subscription (ONOS), and Internet facility at Reading Hall. including  Website service, Display of Publications, Online library service, Facilities for differently abled learners and E-resources and Self Learning Material (SLM) Libraries.
