Periyar University admission process will start soon for the academic session 2026. Students can apply to various undergraduate, postgraduate, PG/diploma, certificate and PhD programs. The application form is available on the university admission portal. Admission will be through a merit basis and entrance examination. It is mandatory to pay an application fee (ranging between INR 118 – INR 885), which is different for each program. Periyar University in Salem was established in the year 1997. It is a public state university situated in Salem, Tamil Nadu, India.  Periyar University has achieved  12(B) and 2(f) status from the University Grants Commission. The university is accredited with an A++ grade. University offers higher learning through the department of study and research, affiliated colleges, and centre of Distance and Online Education (CDOE). Periyar University has 27 departments, 117 affiliated colleges, and a Center for Post Graduate and Research Studies in Dharmapuri. Most programs are offered through Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS). Periyar University UG Admission 2026

Periyar University admission for the postgraduate program will start soon for the academic year 2026. Application fee for all Ug programs is INR 354/-. Students are invited to register for various UG programs such as B.Voc Food Science and Nutrition, B.Voc Textiles and Apparel Design, and B.Sc. Immersive Technology, and B.Tech in Immersive Technology. The course length of all undergraduate programs is between 3 to 4 years with 6 to 8 semesters.

To be eligible for admission, students have to pass a higher examination in a stream from the Board of Higher Secondary Examination, Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent board accepted by the university. Undergraduate program fee ranges around INR 12,740 to INR 1,03,775 per year. 

Periyar University PG Admission 2026 

Periyar University admission has not started yet for the postgraduate degree program for the academic session 2026. The application fee of all PG programs is INR 354. However, for the MCA/ M.Ed program, it is INR 590 and for the MBA is INR 885/-. Students can register to programs such as master of arts in 5 specializations, MAJMC, MBA, MCOM, M.ED,M.Lib.I.Sc, MCA, MLIS, MSC, in 20 specializations, M.TECH, MPHIL arts program with 9 specializations, and MPHIL science program with 18 specializations. Postgraduate programmes are available for the duration of two years and four semesters.

Students must have a bachelor degree in related discipline with at least 50% -60% mark(45% for reserved category) from any university to be eligible for admission to periyar university. Admission will be based on qualifying examination and entrance test conducted by the university. Selection for the MBA program will be based on the TANCET/MAT/CAT Score/Entrance Examination. Postgraduate courses fee per year is approximately around INR 9000 to INR 30190. 

Periyar University PG Diploma & Certificate Courses Admission 2026

Periyar University admission registration will begin soon for the PG diploma and certificate courses for the session 2026. Application fee for these courses will be INR 118. Currently, the University is offering diploma programs in Health Science Management, Accountancy and Taxation and Chemical Polishing of Metals, PG diploma in Dravidian Literature and Journalism (Part Time) and certificate courses in Quality Control and Gender, Science & Society.

PG diploma and certificate courses are offered for 6 months and diploma courses for the period of 1 year. To get admission to diploma and certificate courses students need to pass a 10+2 examination with any stream. To be eligible forPG diploma, students need to have a bachelor degree in a related field. The total course fee of a PG diploma is INR 5910/- and for diploma and certificate courses is between INR 4230 to INR 810. 

Periyar University Admission Fee Structure 2026 

Application fee for UG/PG Programmes & B.Voc is INR 354, and for  MCA/ M.Ed It’s INR 590/-. Also, the application fee of an MBA program is INR 885 and INR 118 for Certificate /Diploma / PG Diploma Programmes. 

Periyar University Admission Application Process 2026 

Students have to apply for admission online. It is mandatory to read all the instructions carefully before submitting the application form.

• Step 1: Visit the University website www.periyaruniversity.ac.in. 
• Step 2: Click on the UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT ADMISSION button. 
• Step 3: Click on the APPLY NOW option.
• Step 4: Selection application type. Choose any UG/PG/diploma/certificate program option you wish to apply for.
• Step 5: Now an application form will appear.
• Step 6: Select degree, program, enter personal details, address, contact number, special quota (if applicable), educational qualifications, and click on declaration BOX.
• Step 7: Upload signature of the applicants and the parent in 30k image size. 
• Step 8: Also, upload all the required scan copies of original documents. 
• Step 9: And then click on the register. 
• Step 10: Now pay the application fee online.

Note: students have to print out duly filed application form along with self attested copies of original documents and send it to the respective head of the department, periyar university, salem – 636 011  before the given date.
