Mumbai University admission process will start soon for the academic session 2026. Preparations are still going for admission. When these things are done, a portal will be launched for accepting applications for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes. The application process will be carried out through an online portal. All necessary details related to admission, its eligibility criteria, fee structure and application fees are available. You need to check that properly before applying or registering for any course.

Mumbai University will also announce that its last date of registration or submission will be notified via official notification or circular. Admission to all affiliated institutions will start together; you also have the option to choose any college. Mumbai University UG Courses Admission 2026

Mumbai University admission process for the undergraduate courses will begin soon. Undergraduate Admission at Mumbai University is completely merit-based. There are about 183 UG courses available. Some of the courses ask for a written test or common eligibility test. Which is either conducted by university and competent authorities or by that specific department in which you take admission. If we look at the minimum eligibility criteria, Intermediate or Higher Secondary School Passing Certificate (XII)  is required for UG courses. If we discuss minimum marks here, it depends on courses which is basically 45%. This certification must be provided by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher secondary Education or any recognised board.

If you are opting for a personalized UG course. Then, you should remember that its criteria can be different. Those courses might ask for specific subjects or stream selection in qualifying marks. Mumbai University PG Courses Admission 2026

Mumbai University admission to postgraduate courses will start soon for the academic session 2026. There are so many faculties like Arts, Commerce, Law, Science, Education, Tech, Fine arts in Mumbai University. This university offers about 443 postgraduate (PG) courses. Admission to these courses are accepted on merit based or by fulfilling criteria or by attending entrance examinations conducted by the University. Minimum eligibility has been already laid down by Mumbai university which is an Undergraduate degree in relevant field.

If required it should be from  a specific subject. The degree should be only provided by a university that is recognised by UGC. Candidates are advised not to secure less than required marks, which is 50%. These graphs can be high and low sometimes. Up to 5% marks will be awarded for reserve students. There are some other criteria for courses, like the Eligibility Test, a Written test conducted by the university or competent authorities. Eligibility Criteria For Mumbai University Admission 2026 

There are about 405 different programmes available at Mumbai University. These programmes are available in various subjects and faculties. To be eligible for undergraduate programmes offered at Mumbai University, Higher Secondary School Certificate, HSS (grade 12) is must. There needs to be some specific stream from a recognized board. Minimum marks will be as per programme. While for PG courses, an interested candidate needs to be with a Bachelor’s degree having minimum marks requirement from 45% to 60% from an approved university. These minimum marks can be up or down depending on the programme or subject.

Mumbai University Admission Fee Structure

We have already discussed that there are about 405 offered courses, in which 183 are UG, 443 are PG, and 79 are doctoral. These courses have different fee structures depending on their level and specialization. Even some government scholarships are provided to reserve students, that is why they need relatively low tuition fees. There are several additional charges other than just tuition fees. Mumbai University Admission Application Process 2026

The application process for Admission will be carried out by the University itself though online. Applicants can proceed by registering with their email id and mobile number. You will be entering Name and other details which must be the same as in Aadhaar Card. For post-registration, it is mandatory to link the ABC ID through the  SAMARTH portal. You must login with registered email only. You all are encouraged to use all the latest versions of browsers. You can fill the registration form by clicking on New Registration.

You fill all necessary details like Name, DOB, Email, Password, and mobile Number and at last click on Register. Now use the entered email and password for login. After login, enter details, upload documents and pay the registration fee. Once the fee gets paid it won’t be refunded.  Now, you can opt your course and can appear in examinations if needed. 

Required Documents For Mumbai University Admission

Firstly, you need to keep your Email ID with you as all the details and SMS will be received. But you also need to create an ABC ID. You are required to submit a scanned copy of the following documents. 

  • Passport-size photograph of candidates 
  • Scanned copy of signature 
  • Class 10th Marksheet (copy)
  • Scanned Copy of Class 12th Marksheet 
  • Domicile Certificate (for Maharashtra Students)
  • Scanned copy of Income Certificate (for those belong to category)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • EWS Certificate for weak section students
  • Valid Proof (Adhaar/PAN/Voter ID)

Mumbai University Admission Through CUET 

There is not any specific requirement of CUET for Mumbai University admission. As candidates are allowed to apply directly from the Mumbai University Admission desk. Apart from the Central University Entrance Test(CUET), the University conducts its own eligibility test (ET) and common eligibility test (CET). Some departments also conduct examinations of their own level.  

For a doctoral degree, you are required to sit a general aptitude test that will be followed by one to one interview

Mumbai University Merit List 

Mumbai University Merit list got released just after completion of the application process and entrance or written examination(if any). This list is announced on the official website of respective colleges or campuses. Those students who have registered themself and overcome all those deciding factors got their name in the merit list. This list is released courses wise. So, if you have applied for any of the specific courses or college, you are allowed to check that. If your name appears, you will be called for the seat allotment process and final round of selection. The merit list of Mumbai university is also released after semester or final examination, containing those who have performed well in their academics that year.  

Scholarships Available at Mumbai University

Providing hands to needy, backward-class students to encourage them to pursue higher education. Motivating them by just providing financial assistance. These scholarships and welfare schemes are provided to students by University.  

  • Financial Assistance: This is for representing Students of backward classes. A Rs.10,00,000 (ten lakh rupees) is provisioned for all those candidates of backward classes who are studying in various departments. Application form for this will be made available from the Head of Department. 
  • Needy Student: This is provided on the basis of merit for only two students from each school/department/institution. For this your parental annual income should be less than Rs.75K. 
  • Book Bank Scheme
    • Group Insurance Scheme: This is also called YUVA RAKSHA which is run in collaboration with National Insurance Company Limited. 
    • Government Scholarships: The Government of India Freeship is also provided. Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship is also available.
