About MSU Baroda 

Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda is commonly known as MSU Baroda. It is the top university of Varodara, Gujarat. MSU came into existence in 1949 and was established by the Government of Varodara. It is recognised by UGC and has an A grade accreditation from NAAC. MSU boasts a large campus with top level labs & libraries. MSU Baroda UG Courses Admission 2026

MSU Baroda admission for the undergraduate program will start soon for the academic session 2026. MSU Baroda UG courses require candidates to have passed class 12 or H.S.C from a certified or recognised board. To avail these courses, you need to apply on the MSU Admission portal. Some professional courses ask for entrance examinations. These examinations are JEE Mains, GUJCET. Those students who belong to SC/ST/EWS/ or other get benefitted with relaxation in their marks. But, for that they must assure a submission of original documents. Specific details will be provided via prospectus or information bulletin.

MSU Baroda PG Courses Admission 2026

MSU Baroda admission for the postgraduate program will start soon for the academic session 2026. MA, M.Sc, M.Com and several others are popular PG courses in which MSU Baroda accepts admissions. If you are thinking of getting admission in these offered courses, you are advised to pass undergraduate courses and bring a certificate of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject/field. This needs to be provided by an approved university. Minimum marks criteria is also laid down by the university, which is basically on course selection. Even relaxation is also available for reserve students, which is according to the government rule.

To carry on admission, you need to register first online through GSAT. Then after if necessary, appear in entrance for some professional courses. Some entrances are here as GATE, CAT or more. Admission will be after the counseling process. 

MSU Baroda PhD Courses Admission 2026

MSU Baroda admission has not started yet for the PhD courses. There are several doctoral programs offered by MSU. These programs are available in many faculties and subject areas like Gujarati, Social Science, Sociology, Sanskrit, Philosophy and more. Admission will be carried out through the Ph.D admission portal. To be eligible for admission in Ph.D programmes, you are required to present a master’s degree. This certificate should be provided by a recognised university. Minimum marks percentage will be as per course. You must be holding a qualification for the MSU Baroda Ph.D entrance test (PET). Date for application will be available soon, register, appear in entrance exam and wait for merit list of university.

MSU Baroda Admission Eligibility Criteria 

All the details related to the particular course and eligibility criteria is available on the website. There are a variety of courses in many streams and honors are available in MSU. From session 2024-25, admission will be made available to only those students who have passed higher secondary examination (class 12th). This will be through Gujarat Common Admission Service (GCAS).

Let’s understand course-wise as subjects and marks may charge depending on the programme so please check that. 

• UG: For undergraduate course admission, interested candidates should pass plus two(12th standard) or equivalent. They must ensure 45% to 55% aggregate marks. This certification of authorized board will work only. 
• PG: For master’s degree candidates, the requirement is a bachelor’s qualification having 50% or higher marks. 

Some professional courses ask for valid entrance examination scorecards. Like NET, SLET, PET

MSU Baroda Admission Fee Structure 2026

MSU Baroda Admission Process 2026

All desirable candidates can submit their application online. This application will be applied through the online portal of Gujarat Common Admission Service (GCAS). Click here www.gcas.gujgov.edu.in/ to go to admission portal. Before processing application, check related eligibility criteria which can be found on official website. You need a mobile number and email ID. An OPT will be received via SMS during registration process. Students should keep their registered mob. no,  till process completes. 

Here are all the steps from beginning to end. 

• First, you need to register and thereafter opt whatever course you are wishing to pursue. Now, you need to pay the registration fee and after completely filling all details and reviewing the application form. What you do next is CLICK ON SUBMIT. 
• If you will be eligible for the entrance examination, then SMS will be received on mobile and email. 
• At last SMS for paying the Admission fee will be received.

MSU Baroda Hostel Admission 

Those students who are pursuing programmes and are far from 40KM or more can apply for hostel admission. This will be made available by Dean and Head of Institutions. You need to contact the Warden of the hostel. He/she will allot you a room in the hostel. You can only contact the warden on working days. So, before visiting, confirm whether he/she is available or not. The Warden can change your room anytime if needed. There are some rules you need to follow. These rules are available on the official MSU website. Allotting yourself a room needs a processing fee which is Rs. 250.
