Pondicherry University admission will start soon for the academic session 2026. PU provides admission in various courses, including Bachelor’s degree courses and Master’s degree courses. Applicants who will pass the eligibility criteria can apply to the admission portal of Pondicherry University. For UG programmes, applicants must be 10+2 passed and for PG programmes, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree. There is also an admission/ application fee needs to be paid and is non-refundable. Fees at PU are INR 15,000 to INR 50,000 on an average basis. All programmes offered here are UGC approved.

Pondicherry University, also known as PU, was established in 1985. It is a Central Research University established by an act of Parliament. It fosters excellence in education and encourages interdisciplinary studies. PU is famous for its strong focus on research and innovation. It is also known to be first University in India to implement the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), promoting strong research and education. PU is approved by UGC and is accredited with A+ grade from NAAC.

Pondicherry University UG Admission 2026-27

Pondicherry University admission will start soon for the various UG programmes, such as B.A. Hons, B.Sc Hons, B.P.A Hons, B.Tech, etc in multiple disciplines. UG programmes are 3-year Undergraduate degree programmes and consist of a total of 6 semesters. At PU, 70% of attendance is required for appearing at exams for UG students. Admissions for these PG programmes are based on the Central Universities Entrance Test (CUET UG), 2026. 

For some courses, Students will spend first 2 years in Pondicherry University and the 3rd year in Paris. But for this, each group have to reach level B2 in French/English. Classroom lectures, tutorials, case studies, and seminars is the teaching methods at PU. Students are also encouraged to develop self learning skills. Pondicherry University PG Admission 2026-27

Pondicherry University admission will begin soon for the postgraduate program for the 2026 academic sessions. PU offers various pg programmes such as M.A, M.Tech, M.Sc, M.Com, M.V.A, M.B.A, M.Tech, M.P.A, etc, through the CUET PG entrance examination. PG Programmes are Postgraduate level programmes with a 4-semester division. Students are instructed to have at least 70% of regular attendance to appear for examination. 

PU takes classes in both Pondicherry University and its affiliated University in Paris for some programmes. These programmes are delivered through various teaching methods like tutorials, classroom lectures, case studies, seminars, etc. University offers scholarships and other schemes to provide financial assistance to students. Students can apply through PU University’s official website.  

Eligibility Criteria For Pondicherry University Admission

Every applicant who is deciding to apply for admission at PU must know, it is necessary fulfill eligibility criteria. CUET UG/PG entrance exam is necessary to apply for admission in any UG or PG programme.

Basic eligibility criteria include:

• For UG Programmes: Students must be 10+2 passed with a minimum of 50% marks in the related discipline. (40% to 45% marks for reserved category students).
• For PG Programmes: Students must have a bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 50% marks. (40% to 45% relaxation in marks for students belonging to the reserved category)

Pondicherry University Admission Fees Structure

PU is a central University and offers all its programmes in an affordable fee range. Students have to pay the programme fee with application fee at the time of admission. They also have to pay examination fees later as prescribed by University. Every student is required to clear their fees dues before the examination to get hall admit card. Differently Abled Students are exempted from any kind of fee, including examination fee.

Pondicherry University Admission Process 2026-27

Pondicherry University admission should start soon. The admission criteria are merit-based, and students need to give the CUET exam. Here are the steps below:

• Step 1: Applicants who want to apply for UG or PG programme need to appear for CUET UG or CUET PG entrance examination. Once their result are announced, they can apply at PU.
• Step 2: Applicants need to go to the official website of PU, www.pondiuni.edu.in/ and register themselves on their admission portal.
• Step 3: Select your preferred course and fill application form with the correct details (academic and personal)
• Step 4: Upload scanned copies of all relevant documents.
• Step 5: Pay applicable fees and submit your application. Then wait for further notification by the University.

Pondicherry University Scholarships & Financial Assistance

PU offers various scholarships to financially aid its students and provide financial relaxation. It offers scholarships on basis of Merit, Reservation, and academic performance.

• Merit Scholarship: Candidates who secures highest marks in their entrance exam will be eligible for merit based scholarships. They will be sanctioned a fixed amount by the University which will be credited to them every month.
• Government of India SC/ST/OBC Scholarship: Various Universities offers Government of India scholarship to reserved category students (SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
• Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Girl Child: University offers this scholarships to eligible single girl child in their PG Programmes.
• Madanjeet Singh Group Scholarship: 16 students are selected to give full scholarship under this scheme to those who are pursuing MBA (Green Energy Technology) from the member states of SAARC Countries.
• N.B.H.M Scholarship: The National Board for Higher Mathematics provides scholarships for those students who pass the N.B.H.M. examination.
