Gandhigram Rural Institute admission will start soon for the academic session 2026. The institution offers various courses other than UG and PG; it offers certificate programs as well as the diploma program. Eligibility criteria is variable depending upon the course. Most UGF courses require minimum 50 % marks to appear for the entrance examination which is a qualifying examination for the UG course. CUET UG is a qualifying examination for the UG courses, whereas CUET-PG is a qualifying examination for the PG courses.

Gandhi Gram Rural Institute was established in the year 1956 and recognised as a deemed to be university. The university carries forward Gandhi’s vision of education. It is a multidisciplinary institute offering undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and diploma programmes across streams like arts, science, engineering,r ural development and education. It attained deemed to be university status in 1976. National Assessment and Accreditation Council conferred five star status on GRI in 2002. Eligibility Criteria For Gandhigram Rural Institute Admission 2026

Eligibility for Gandhigram Rural Institute admission in UG and PG courses depends upon the stream and specialization a candidate chooses. For the UG courses candidate must have completed class 10+2 or equivalent qualifying exam with relevant subjects . For BSc agriculture , physics, chemistry, and biology are compulsory subjects with minimum aggregate marks above 50% which can vary for different courses and categories.

For PG courses, the eligibility is a bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent from a recognized university by UGC.when we talk about a specific subject then for MBA, graduation in any stream with 50% marks, for MSc physics, BSc in physics or equivalent is required to qualify for the entrance examination. PhD programmes requires minimum master’s degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 55% marks, an entrance test and interview is also conducted by the university before enrolling any students to its PhD program. For BEd and MEd courses candidates require a relevant UG or PG degree in arts/science/commerce, and BEd for MEd

Gandhigram Rural Institute Admission Fee Structure 

Gandhigram, is known for being affordable compared to private universities; fee varies from year to year. Students are required to pay registration fees during the online application process which vary from INR 300 to INR 600. After the successful counselling session students are required to pay the fee for first year only, this fee does not include examination fee and the hostel fee. Students are required to pay an exam fee before every examination which will be subject to the university’s decision. Gandhigram Rural Institute admissions begin shortly for Phd, UG, or PG courses for the 2026-27 session. Interested students can apply for admission on the University’s official website by filling out the application form.

• Step 1: Registration – visit the official website and click on apply online and create an account using email id and phone number, you will receive an OTP to verify your account.
• Step 2: Fill up the application form – log in using your credentials and fill up the application form with details like name, address, educational qualification details, and course preference 
• Step 3: Choose the course– choose the relevant discipline or stream as per your choice.
• Step 4: Upload the documents – upload all the necessary scanned copy of the  documents required under permissible size 
• Step 5: Review and edit – review all the information for the errors and edit them,if there is any to avoid rejection
• Step 6: Application fee payment– pay the application fee online using net banking/debit card/upi. Fee varies depending on the program generally it is between INR 300 -INR 600. Fees for the PhD program may be on the higher side.
• Step 7: Submission– after payment, click on the submit button and download the application form for future use.
• Step 8: Entrance exam/ merit list – for courses with entrance exams like MBA and BTech, admit card will be issued online, merit based courses will publish cut off list on the website 
• Step 9: Counselling and admission – shortlisted candidates must appear for the counseling, carry original documents, pay the admission fee and confirm the seat .
