HPU Admission 2026-27: The Admission process for the new session is going smoothly; it is expected that the university will soon announce its date of taking admissions. Himachal Pradesh University admission is totally based on either merit of entrance exams or merit of qualifying exams. HPU will release its last date of admission for the upcoming session or 2026. HPU, popularly known as Himachal Pradesh University, was named after the Himachal Pradesh State. This is spread over an area of 213 bighas. HPU started its era of serving academic excellence in 1970. It is accredited by NAAC with an A grade. It is located in Shimla. Even different courses are offered by the integrated institutions of this university.

Himachal Pradesh University UG Admission 2026-27

Some parameters have been decided for those who are seeking admission in UG Courses in HPU. If you desire UG courses like B.Com, B.Sc, B.P.E, BCA, and BA. You can get admission with a merit basis of a qualifying exam or an entrance exam. Admission in UG courses is provided to only those who have a minimum certification of Intermediate or equivalent. That should be only from a recognized state or central board. A relaxation has also been granted to reserve candidates. 

Himachal Pradesh University PG Admission 2026-27

For admission in PG courses such as MA, M.Sc, M.Tech, or more needs at least a Bachelor’s degree in the respective subjects. Your qualification should be from a recognized University. There are some courses in which you need to appear in the University Entrance Test. So, make sure you read all the necessary parameters for admission. Himachal Pradesh University Ph.D Admission 2026-27

HPU Ph.D Admission is a regular mode course which is like a traditional class. This course has a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 years duration. Ph.D courses in HPU are offered under various faculty of languages, Performing and Visual Arts, Physical science and Social Science, Engineering, Law and Technology.  Any candidate seeking admission for Ph.D course should apply in any above mentioned faculty. To be eligible for Ph.D. admission, you must hold a master’s level qualification in any relevant subject. The minimum marks required are 55% from general candidates. While 5% relaxation is for ST/SC candidates.

Those candidates who have a UGC-JRF qualification will be preferred or selected for the course through an interview round. One-time registration fee for HPU Ph.D admission is INR.5000. The thesis submission or evaluation fee is Rs. 10,000. 

Eligibility Criteria For HPU Admission

There are only two ways to get admission for courses available in 40 teaching departments of HPU. The first way is through entrance exam merit, and secondly, on the qualifying exam’s merit. HPU Admission Eligibility Criteria is 10+2/ Any equivalent to this will work. It should be from Physics, Mathematics and others of your choice. Those candidates who are from general categories need a minimum 5 CGPA or 50% marks. While SC/ST candidates will be eligible for UG programs with 45% a minimum marks in their qualifying exams. For those who are opting for a masters degree course in HPU, a degree in Bachelors is compulsory for them.

Fee Structure of HPU Admission

• B.Com – Rs . 5600/year

While there are some other extra fees like 

Caution fee, annual charge, Students Aid fund, Examination fees and many more which will be available for payment at time of admission or during the course. Some of these fees are refundable which got adjusted in last semester. 

HPU Admission Application Process 2026-27

All processes related to admission are controlled and managed using the online portal of HPU. So here is a guide about how to register for a course at this university. 

• Step 1: Click on the UG/PG button on the Official website. This will take you to a list of programs available at the university
• Step 2: Select the programmes you are interested in and click on that tab. 
• Step 3: Make sure you read all instructions before filling forms. When you click on instructions, a PDF will appear there. 
• Step 4: Now, click on your desired programs. 
• Step 5: A pop-up will open that will contain terms and conditions; you will have to check on that to redirect yourself to the Personal Information Page
• Step 6: You have to fill in some details like Personal Information, Details of Academic Career and documents, Payment, and submit.

HPU Admission Login 2026-27

HPU Admission Login will be made available to you only when you complete your admission process or appear in the counseling process. Here is how to log in for HPU Admission.
